Additional plugin cleaners

Post by WYBaugh » Tue Jul 20, 2004 8:47 am

Any chance of adding Internet Download Manager and Altavista Toolbar to History Cleaner? IDM keeps list of all downloads until list deleted manually. Altavista Toolbar keeps all recent searches. Thanks.

If you know where those programs save their mru lists, you can easily write your own plugin using a text editor.
Examine AU plugins (*.aup) in pluins folder to understand their format.
Otherwise, tell me the exact registry and / or disk location where those program save file lists and i'll help you to create a plugin.

Hi,

I downloaded AltaVista toolbar, and created the plug-in. If you can't wait till August , send me an email from the support page.

Noticed another thing. There is an option menu to clear the search history when you click the 'AltaVista' label. However, it still keeps all the search strings in registry; simply does not show them in the toolbar. I Guess it tries to learn about user's search habits.

My plugin will clear all these registry strings, and even the 'last searched' term which is not cleared by AVT.

If i have time, I will create one for IDM too.

Thanks for these replies. It's the download list in the main window that has to be cleared manually. It would be good to clear all completed downloads via ace utilities. Many thanks if these can be incorporated in next release.
