Re: System TuneUp v3.0 Beta
Thanks for updating STU
On my Windows 7 64-bit the jumplist cleaning now works, but the clear most used apps in startmenu doesent.
The rest works as far as I can tell.
p.s. BTW, the jumplist cleaning should have it's own tick-box for those who dont want them cleaned.

Re: System TuneUp v3.0 Beta
For now, the most used apps section is not cleared by design. Since Windows 7 does not have any default 'pinned items', unlike Windows Vista, clearing the used programs list may end up with an empty menu with plain white area. A separate check-box can be added for 'jumplist cleaning'. Thank you for trying out v3 beta. It's strange, though, that Ace Utilities is not clearing the jumplist as expected in your PC. :-\

Re: System TuneUp v3.0 Beta
Run System TuneUp Beta 3.0 on Vista SP2 x64 Business. All software running at latest versions.
When running Quick CleanUp, I have the Delete Option set to Manual. On Junk Files Removal and Registry Cleaner, if I click on View Files/Registry Items, nothing happens. It does not display the junk files or the detected registry entries to be removed nor does it remove them.
Other than the above issue, ST V3.0 beta appears to working as smoothly and efficiently as Ace Utilities V5.1 Beta on Vista SP2 x64....which is great.
Why not include Regbak as an "External Tool"?
It would be nice if System TuneUp had the same "automate" option as Ace Utilities.

Re: System TuneUp v3.0 Beta
Remove Junk Files does not scan hidden system folders even though 'Show ignored files (advanced)' is checked.
For example: C:\Windows\System32\config\RegBack
Your program does not scan the folder listed above for *.old files. I have *.old files checked in Junk File Types.

Re: System TuneUp v3.0 Beta
If you do want to include this folder, then go to ' \Data\Ignore_junk ' in the Ace Utilities installation folder, open the file 'Vista.ini' in Notepad, delete the line which says ' *\System32\config\* ' and save the file.Aneesh wrote:'config' folder is excluded by design.saad wrote:Remove Junk Files does now scan hidden system folders even though 'Show ignored files (advanced)' is checked.

Re: System TuneUp v3.0 Beta
I am on holiday,so I am not around my pc, but it is the most used apps history on the left side in startmenu that doesent get cleaned.
The jumplists cleaning(right-click windows explorer taskbar icon) does work as far as I can tell. And as I said, the jumplist cleaning should have it's own checkbox.

Re: System TuneUp v3.0 Beta
Now all look good in Win7 64-bit
I still suggest to have the jumplist cleaning in Win7 an own checkbox.

I have Windows Vista 32-bit with Internet Explorer 8 on my system. I have 3 user accounts all with Administrator rights.
Erase History for All users of this computer does not clean Internet Explorer Cache and Internet Explorer Cookies.
