I recently did a search for duplicate files on an external drive (E). The drive is no longer attached to my computer, but when I open the search, the E drive is selected by default in the search list (as it was my last search), even though it is no longer a valid drive on my system. I did not proceed in the event that AU would lock up looking for the E drive, so I cant even say if AU would have worked properly if I did continue.
One would probably get the same result if you searched a folder with duplicate file finder, deleted the folder, then opened AU again to see the folder remembered in the search criteria.
Is there a quick way of clearing out the search area?
What I had to do was to temporarily define an E drive, restart AU, then uncheck the E drive. I will remember to deselect these type of searches in the future, but there should be an easier solution.
