I have the purchased version of Ace Utilities 2.4.2. I recently got a 200GB Maxtor hard drive and ran the format/copy utility to copy my old hard drive over to the new one. I am now booting off the new 200GB hard drive. Apparently, hard drives over 137MB use a new 48 bit LBA addressing scheme to access the larger drive sizes. Just before I copied the hard drive over, I ran ace util's registry cleaner and deleted all items. I had a totally clean registry before the install. Now, when I run ace util's registry cleaner (running off the new 200GB drive) I get 846 invalid entries in the registry. Obviously this has occured as a result of the transfer from my old hard drive to the new 200GB hard drive. I have NOT yet selected the option to remove the 846 invalid entries because I am concerned it will crash the whole registry. I am running Windows XP Home, SP2.
My question is, does Ace Utilities support 48 bit LBA drives? Is this a bug/deficiency in Ace utilities? Will there be a patch?? Should I select the option to delete the 846 entries?? Any ideas?
Possible Ace utilities and 48 bit LBA addressing issue??
Ace Utilities will run on ALL Windows platforms! And if your DRIVE is supported by your OS then you shouldn't have a problem in using AU at all. You also may want to read this article

Cal!
Very interesting article on 48 bit..
X***G*Y
For the sake of investigating this further: Can you specify
brand and size of the old hard drive?
Brand of computer/motherboard?
Have you upgraded to WinXP from another Operating system?
Same partition type(s) and number of partitions on the two drives?
Can you show us some of the 846 entries from Ace backups(view in notepad copy/paste to the forum)..
jazz.....
