I recently installed "Nero CD/DVD" software pkg. and noticed that all my files with extension of .DAT had been changed to being read by "Nero" instead of their previous Wordpad or whatever it was. (I went to Control Panel, Folder Options, File Types, to verify this). The icon was also changed in the various folders to a "Nero" icon.

My question is this: Would these changes in any way effect how the Ace pgms read these various *DAT files in the various "Ignore_*" folders that are used as Options? Are they still accessable by the Ace pgms?

It really doesn't affect anything according to Ace Utilities, the "App Name" not the icon is what is most important in the "Ignorelist," it's just that the "Controlling" app Icon has changed not the "Apps Name". Its the same as browser icons--- if Opera is the dafault browser then when you click on bookmarks all of the websites will show opera icons, and the same would be true if IE was the default browser but it doesn't affect where the link with take you if clicked on.
