Windows ME Restore Function

Post by SaltCity315 » Wed Nov 17, 2004 6:56 pm

My Windows ME system has developed a few problems lately that I'd like to know if Ace Utilities can fix, before I buy your software. The first problem is I can no longer create restore points. When I try to create a restore point, I get an error message that "A restore point could not be created. Restart your computer and try again". I've done this but still can not create a restore point. Another problem is that during a recent MS Windows automatic update event, I was asked to restart the computer in order to have the changes take effect. Upon doing so, I recieved an error message that "Windows could not upgrade the file %1 from %2 %1: %2". I've looked on the Windows web site, and it instructed me to look for a file called wininit.ini but I could not find this file on my computer. Finally, my computer will no longer go into hibernate mode. I'm most concerened about my computers inability to create restore points however. Can Ace Utilities fix these problems? Thanks for your help.

Sorry, you have a Windows Problem! Ace Utilities won't be able to fix it. But I would suggest however, that you begin using a Backup Application like Ghost 2003 (http://store.viosoftware.biz/gh20cdon.html), Acronis True Image 8.0 (http://www.acronis.com/homecomputing/pr ... trueimage/), etc.
