update not working?

whenever i use the 'check for update' facility in ace utilities, i receive dialog box saying 'please close this application to install the update'. i close the application and then nothing happens.. am i doing something wrong?
please advise..
current version i have is 5.2.0 64bit

Some users have reported experiencing troubles while updating using the built-in 'update module' during some sessions. You can easily update the program by visiting our website, downloading the appropriate version and installing it. The installer will automatically recognize the existing version and performs the updates as necessary.
