I'm on win7 7260 using ace utilities 5.1 beta
knowing i've many duplicate files i ran duplicates files finder and it took couple of hours to find all the results.
first I set it to show 500 dups per page. it was like 80 pages, i started deleting. on 4th page it crashed.
then i set it to show 5000 dups per page maybe 1 click removal would do the job, it crashed. then 1000 then crashed again
well i know its unusual to have so many duplicates, i don't know how it compares the files and queries them, but it'd be nice if it didn't crash
so anyways i've few features requests about this.
1. can the results be saved to be loaded at another time?
2. can the highlighted results, from right click menu, be selected?
3. can au choose all the duplicate files except 1 by itself? I've to select "choose one in each" then "invert selection" to accomplish this. (i know its usefull as well but still)
4. can it not crash please
I used some other software to find duplicates the memory usage goes up to like 700mb whereas au is around 60, which is pretty good. its faster than the other software that i used (even using the crc32 or md5) some other software uses sql to manage the list of duplicates. i dunno how au does it but can it be enhanched to withstand many duplicates.Thanks!
