Re: Ace Utilities v5.1 Beta
Still the history cleaning of recent programs used in the startmenu does not work in win7 64 bit.
Other than that, a solid release.
Good to see the reg compactor being integrated.

Kind time of the day!
Fantastic! Great job! Thanks!
And first question at the beginning of testing Ace Utilities v.5.1.
How can I move settings from v.5.0 into v.5.1 ?

First, from v5.0: 'Menu' > 'Settings' > 'Export Preferences' > Save the settings.lexa77 wrote:Kind time of the day!

Then, open v5.1: 'Menu' > 'Settings' > 'Import Preferences' > Browse and select the saved file.
Note that some settings are changed in v5.1. So after importing, go through the 'Options' page.

Re: Ace Utilities v5.1 Beta
Aneesh, I've noticed in AU v5.0 & v5.1 that the "Plug-In Manager" will not keep items selected/check marked! Every time I select items from the list and close AU they are NOT retained/checked when I start AU again.
Re: Ace Utilities v5.1 Beta
I export settings from v.5.0, and I have AcePref5.0.0., but Ace Utilities v.5b1 request AcePref5.1.0. Shall I rename AcePref5.0.0 to AcePref5.1.0?Aneesh wrote:First, from v5.0: 'Menu' > 'Settings' > 'Export Preferences' > Save the settings.lexa77 wrote:Kind time of the day!

Re: Ace Utilities v5.1 Beta
How sad!
I love Ace Utilities!
I worked some time with v.4, v.5.0, v.5.1 Beta...
But all my trial periods are going to an end and I need to uninstall Ace Utilities...
And it is my last post here...
"Ace Utilities" is the Perfect program!
Aneesh and your team!
I wish you good luck!
Regards.

Re: Ace Utilities v5.1 Beta
Beta 5.1 appears to be working quite well on Vista SP2 x64 Business and XP-SP3 x86 HE, both with IE8.
One thing I did notice on the installation on Vista SP2 x64 of Beta 5.1 after first removing V5.0 and rebooting:
- After installing V5.1, I had to reboot the system because all the shortcuts in my subfolders in the Quick Launch bar became inactive. Following a reboot, these shortcuts are okay...so no big deal.

That's strange. Just checked it in Vista x32, x64 business, XP and Windows 7 x32. The check-marks are retained across sessions. We'll check it again, though.lexa77 wrote: Confirm. Vista Home Premium x32, Windows 7 Ultimate RC x32.

it seems that it's working OK now! Maybe I was having some intermittent problem, but in any case it's OK at this time.

Re: Ace Utilities v5.1 Beta
Beta 5.1 does not pass the x64 compatibility test on this link below.
http://www.registry-cleaner.net/x64-reg ... r-test.htm
Yes, I understand that the above test claim is not totally valid. However, specific key is something that you may wish to include for x64 systems.
