Freezes on registry cleaner and shortcut cleaner

When I try to scan the registry or search for invalid shortcuts the program freezes. It only happened recently so i checked to see if i had made any modifications or something like that which would make ace utilities not work, i also reinstalled 2 times, same problem. removing junk files and cleaning history and everything else still works, but the registry cleaner and the shortcut cleaner freezes for some reason. any help would be appreciated i havent been able to scan those areas for a while.

and see if it freezes ?

Also try extracting the file

http://www.acelogix.com/downloads/mfc42.zip

to the folder c:\program files\ace utilities
