Is this ever going to get released or updated? It's been a little long for being in beta, don't you think?
Thank you,
Robert

A little long it's been, we admit. We're phasing out our old development rigs and hence the extended delay. We hope the users would understand and stand by us.

I am sure there are reasons for the delay. Ace Utilities will certainly get better and I am sure the developer is waiting for Windows 7 to iron oout all compatibilities issues.

Not to worry, I support the developer and have been since 2004, no harm waiting.

I have no choice but to stand by you, Aneesh, I am a registerted user. I'm just waiting on something, anything, to show signs of life to this program. You guys used to develop and add things a little more often, which is why I regiestered the program to being with. I was getting worried that you might be going the way of a lot of program authors in this economy. People will move on if there are no signs of stirring. I'd hate to see that happen with Ace Utilities. You guys used to be the best.
Thank you,
Robert

Boofo,

Me too.....I have been a registered user of ACE for years. Actually, it maybe understandable of the delays, it is very time consuming and difficult writting programs.

Now a days, you'll rarely find programs that let user pay once and get life time FREE upgrades.....Some programs that are totally FREE, ie=OPEN Source, do lack features.

I had several software programs that let users pay once and get Free life-time upgrades, however, the author was not able to sustain the programs had to either give up supporting the programs or opt for minimum fee to upgrades.....eventually, users opt for a min fee for upgrades....at least the author is motivated to provide better programs.

I have a feeling that ACE may eventually going to charged for user upgrades. It is understandable.

That is my feeling anyway.

Bye

True, but there are authors that routinely update their programs to keep the customers they have from jumping ship and to stay ahead of the competiton. As I said, Ace Utilities used to be one of the best as far as updating their program and how effectively it worked. There are others that have taken over that spot now, which is sad. I won't name any of them but I have registered another Registy Program that is way ahead of AU right now and continually being updated and even out-shined AU in testing in a few areas. Hopefully beta 5 will get released soon and prove to be worth the extended wait.
Thank you,
Robert

Can someone post a screen shot of the new GUI :?:

I have always felt the four groupings (Clean Up, Optimize, Protect & Misc) never made any organizational sense...I found myself, even after years of using this great product, clicking and hunting for the tools I needed to use...every time.

Can't wait to see this new release. :P

Hands down best program for optimizing performance and keeping a computer clean as a whistle 8)

thanks Aneesh :!:

Aaron

Ps. I love smiles :D

Thanx, have not found any bugs yet running Vista SP2 64-bit :)
Will v5 have support for Windos 7 RC?

Edit- Just tried it on Windows 7 RC 64-bit. So far only bug found is that it wont clean the recent history of programs and files used in the start menu.
Hope to see this fixed with the final v5.

Thank you for your observation. We've so far only checked the compatibility with Windows 7 x32bit version.

This morning I installed the latest V5.0 beta on my XP-SP3 x86 Home Edition computer.
When performing a Remove Junk Files, it goes into a continuous scan of the C:\ drive, cannot be cancelled, and cannot be ended via the task manager. A hard reboot is required. I am running Norton Internet Security 2009 and TrojanHunter on this system; however, temporarily disabling them does not resolve the issue. Other features in AU appear to work okay.

For Remove Junk Folders, my profile is at the default and options "Clean Temp Folder", "Delete Empty Temp folders", and "Use Ignore List" are checked.

I have run CHKDSK /r /f on the drive and found no errors. System TuneUp does not have any problems with the Remove Junk Files.

I also have this beta version on my Vista SP2 RTM x64 computer and no problems occur.
Home Built ASUS ROG Maximus Extreme with Windows 10x64 Pro; Dell XPS 15 (9575) 2in1 with Windows 11x64 Pro; Dell XPS 8940SE with Windows 10 x64 Pro.

Hi,

Did this happen only once or is it happening on subsequent scans as well?

I've tried it multiple times (at least 5 times). I've rebooted, tried, rebooted, tried again, etc. No luck. It does find several junk files and displays them before going into a continuous scan and unterruptible (cannot cancel) scan.

I might add that I also have the latest version of CCleaner and it runs fine on junk file removal.

Could you export the settings for Ace Utilities through 'Menu > Settings > Export preferences...' and email it to Acelogix software support (support @ acelogix.com)?
