Couple registry keys to ignore for Microsoft Intellitype

Post by Bikr » Sat Nov 01, 2008 3:17 pm

I just discovered that cleaning these two registry keys will corrupt the installation of Microsoft Intellitype 6.3 keyboard software (http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/downl ... ategory=MK):

Code: Select all

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Installer\UserData\S-1-5-18\Products\D3996F20367B04F4F839A2C99D57683E\InstallProperties\InstallSource

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\Eventlog\Application\IntelliType Pro\EventMessageFile
If these keys are deleted and you try to launch Microsoft Keyboard utility, it will throw you into an MSI install loop (asking for installation source, where clicking Cancel doesn't work and it continues to load and asks you again, and again, and...).

I've excluded them from my registry cleaner, but just thought I'd let you guys know about it.
