Instructing Ace Utilities to remove a junk file to recycle bin uses the same approach as that of Windows when it deletes a file to recycle bin. So, wiping the recycle bin effectively removes the deleted files in a secure fashion.

To ensure total security of a particular drive(s), 'Wipe free space' is the way to go.

is the difference between checking the 'move items to recycle bin' box or leaving it unchecked? Is one way better than the other?

If it's not checked does ACE still use the wipe option you have chosen to wipe the file without moving it to recycle bin?

I guess I just don't understand why you would choose one over the other?

hi

If the option 'move items to recycle bin' is not checked, files can be recovered. It is best to delete them to bin and wipe bin later.

We left that option (to delete without wiping) due to user request. Not all users want every file wiped.
