less free space after emptying trashcan

after surely delete files and emptying my traschcan my harddrive lost 600mb freespace, where did it go to?

Can you be a bit more specific please ?

Also, try turning off "System Restore" feature in WinME and WinXP. These features create periodic backups of files which are deleted or changed thereby taking up your harddisk space.

Wipe free space:
If, by any chance, Ace Utilities crashes, it cannot clear the temp files created during the process. In such cases, you have to delete those temp files manually to recover space.
