Hey, you insulted me. Just because I gave my opinion and you didn't agree with it!
I didn't tell the developers anything. It was merely a reply to your post.
My reasoning goes like this: the majority of users seem to be home users. How many home users run server? That is what I was trying to put across.
Get off your high horse, pick up your teddy bear and don't insult me again.
Jerk.

By your own logic, then the majority of users have not migrated to a 64 bit OS, therefore no development is required at all, since 32bit satisfies the vast majority of the installed base and candidates.
I replied to a posting from Aneesh with a question. What you think, feel or anything else is irrelevant. Now you can have your thread .. correction opinion-fest back.

Maybe that is your logic, but it isn't mine.
Forums are generally used to chat to likeminded people and discuss topics. This is a forum.
I am not disagreeing with your first post. It does make sense, but I just pointed out about the majority of users. I also thought it may be difficult recruiting enough people who run server to take part in a beta.
I'll leave it now as you obviously do not like people to voice opinions.

We've run into some unexpected problems, hence the delay in releasing the beta product. The current testing is being done in Windows XP 64 bit. As far as Windows Server 2003 is concerned, I can't say anything now, but we will look into it. Thank you for your support.lamarmotte71 wrote:I'm a little concerned to see that you're beta testing the x64 edition on WinXP rather than Server 2003 ?
Since the x64 edition is based on the Server 2003 x64 implementation it would probably make more sense to test it on the parent product knowing that the watered-down child product should work.
So the question is, do you plan to support Server 2003 in x64 mode or just the desktop OS ?
Thanks,
JC
p.s: any word on a tentative limited beta release to the public ?

Regarding the talks between lamarmotte71 and paulgreyhead :
We try our best to cater for almost all of the Windows flavours. If you go through some of the old posts in this forum, you may notice that some users have demanded a specific option that a large number of users don't need/use. Still, we have incorporated such changes after studying their feasibility. So, I would urge you both not to take this too personally and start flaming each other.
I thank you both for the interest you have shown towards Acelogix.

Thanks Aneesh, this is all I wanted to know. I have WXP x64 running on the two systems at home (personal use license) in dual-boot and one server at work is on x64 Server 2003 (though the other licensed one is on 32bit Server 2003 and fine on v3.0).
We want to buy a license for the other server when x64 is available and working on the server. We also want to deploy this throughout the company rather than the two servers and one client but have been waiting for x64/x86 support in order to meet our goals.
Not to worry on Server 2003, the lack of Acronis True Image x64 support is a bigger hassle for us right now anyway.
I appreciate you giving us an update on where it's at.

Hello
I dont see where any one has been insulted..
Did you guys think that 64 bit access Is a unifying factor in the implementation of a program..The minor differences in between XP64 and server2003 are mostly folder location/existence and cost to the end user..
How about a little positive chit-chat on the actual differences in these two Operating systems which might or might not affect the execution of a program like ACE UTILITIES....
I need to find out if I can take 8x8 bit chips and stick them together with bubble gum and make a 64 bit system..
Then maybe I can be Y2K compliant...
jazz
