Issue when upgrading AU 5.2.5 to 5.3.0

Post by FAM07 » Mon Jan 07, 2013 12:50 am

Hi,
My comment is about Option/Remove Junk File/Profile. When upgrading AU from verison 5.2.5 to version 5.3.0 (or the last beta 5.4) two file extensions remain added to the list (total: 44 extensions). If all extensions are marked the profile transforms to Custom (if the profile Emergency is selected, these two extensions remain unselected). The solution was uninstall AU 5.2.5 and then install the 5.3.0, in this case 42 extensions appeared (I suppouse this is the correct number).
Therefore the upgrading was not effective because that extension files issue. This issue was verified in Win 7 and Win XP.

The two extensions are:

*.~*
~*.*

These extensions disappear when AU 5.3.0 is installed in a clean mode and remain when installed over the previous AU version.

Those two extensions are left out by default for fresh installs from Ace Utilities v5.3.0 onwards. The files matching these two patterns cannot be treated as junk files in some scenarios.
