What about windows 2000, is memory management software useless in win2k?

I'm not precisely sure where you retrieved this information from, but it is unfortunately mostly correct. Though Ram optimizers do make a little bit of difference, I tend not to use them, as I genuinely don't see much improvement whilst using it. Same applies for Win2k I'm afraid as XP and Windows 2000 are pretty much identical

Point mute;WinXP/2K are pretty good I reckons..
If your into them In my opinion the best is "RamPage1.6"

Perhaps mate, but the thing is, I've used alot of Ram Optimizers in my computing lifetime, and to be honest, I found just going out to PC World and buying 2 new ram drives easier than trying to find a good Ram Optimizer that only frees a few kilobytes anyway..

RAM optimizing software is [garbage]. Windows XP manages memory better than any "optimizing" software. All the software does is steal the mrmory away from the programs to make it look like you have regained RAM and still have all your programs running perfectly. If you start maximizing windows and clicking menus within them, you will notice that the memory was simply taken away from your programs and put back in the "Free Memory" portion again. That's crap.
