I think we're just genuinely concerned about the future of Ace Utilities. When there are only one or two updates per year, we wonder what the future holds? CCLeaner has
monthly updates and they're already starting to support Windows 8!
While CCleaner doesn't have all the functionality as AU, the fact that they're continuously improving it, makes me feel more confident in their product. Here are the version histories for the last two updates to CCleaner:
v3.12.1572 (24 Oct 2011)
- Added Firefox 8.0 Beta support.
- Added Firefox 7.0 Final support.
- Added secure delete for Cluster tips.
- Added secure delete for Alternate Data Streams.
- Added cleaning for Network Passwords.
- Added PATH environment variable cleaning.
- Added cleaning for Top Sites in Safari.
- Improved support for Chrome Canary.
- Improved support for Firefox Aurora channel.
- Added cleaning for AVG AntiVirus 2012, ACDSee 14, BitZipper and Avast! Antivirus 6.
- Improved cleaning for VLC Media Player and Axialis IconWorkshop.
- Added Marathi translation.
- Minor bug fixes.
v3.11.1550 (04 Oct 2011)
- (Build 1550) Fixed Recycle Bin issues.
- Added initial support for Windows 8.
- Added expanded Recycle Bin contents in detailed view.
- Improved Thunderbird cache cleaning support.
- Improved Safari history cleaning.
- Improved "Unused File Extensions" registry rule improvements.
- Improved Secure file deletion on FAT32 file system.
- Improved Drive Wiper tool to prevent UI freezing.
- Improved cleaning for Windows Log Files, Memory Dumps, Microsoft Office 2007 and 2010.
- Improved Speedbit Download Accelerator Plus cleaning.
- Added cleaning for AkelPad.
- Added Latvian translation.
- Minor bug fixes.

Aneesh, time will prove that I was correct. There are discussions in different forums that Acelogix is no more.
Bikr, I agree with you. Piriform (CCleaner) has improved their products alot but, they really need to improve their registry cleaner which is part of CCleaner. I just use Ace Utilities to scan registry along with Auslogics Registry Cleaner. Alone Ace Utilities's Registry Cleaner does not find all the errors in Windows registry as this program needs to be updated. Ace Utilities's History Cleaner is outdated. Sometime Registry Compactor cause problems with Windows 7 SP1, so basically this feature is unsafe. I quit sending suggestions as no one is here to address the issues. I spend most of my spare time to help Piriform and GlarySoft (Glary Utilities) to improve their products!

It's true that we are not updating every other week like we used to a few years back. That does not mean we are not doing any updates or upgrades. It's just that there is more time gap between them. Rest assured, we are in the game.

At the moment, Ace Utilities is more up to date than System TuneUp.
