Ace Utilities and Recycle Bin wiping!

Post by saad » Sun Nov 28, 2010 5:07 am

I have Windows 7 32-bit installed on my computer. I have Ace Utilities version 5.2.3.472 installed.

Program does not remove wiped files traces from Recycle Bin. I am attaching a snapshot that I have made when I was looking at the files traces using Active@ Boot Disk.

Please think adding '$LogFile' wiping when wiping Recycle Bin in future release of Ace Utilities.

'Wiping the recycle bin' will securely delete only those files that are present in the bin at that time. To remove traces of previously deleted files (files deleted without using 'Ace Utilities bin wipe') from the bin or drive, you need to perform a 'wipe free space'. Please do a free space wipe on your F: drive and check after it finishes.

I wiped free space. Then I used Boot Disk again to look into Recycle Bin, all the traces were gone from the Recycle Bin.

Again I deleted some files and sent them to Recycle Bin. Then I wiped Recycle Bin using your program. After wiping I used Boot Disk to look into Recycle Bin and all the traces of newly wiped files were in Recycle Bin the same way.

But those are not the actual 'traces' of the files wiped. They are just random names created during the erasing process. Isn't it? Wiping is being done. Also, I would suggest restarting the 'boot disk' program after the 'wipe recycle bin' process is complete and then scan for recoverables.

I have restarted the Boot Disk after the 'wipe recycle bin' process was completed and scanned for recoverable. All the fragments of wiped files were still in 'Recycle bin'.
