Hello,
If I use the thorough option under Registry TuneUp there are invalid entries called Windows tracing. I usually can open items in Regedit and tell if there are wrong but with these items I'm unsure. Is it a problem if I delete these? What are they?
Thanks a lot!!
Registry TuneUp question(s)
Hey,
Most probably, you won't run into any trouble deleting entries detected by Registry Tuneup. But, if that happens you can merge the backup-file produced to reverse the delete process. Its always prudent to take a registry backup before meddling with it, just to be on the safe side - especially novice users.

Hello Aneesh ..
You have given me an idea..You probably had it before..To put a switch,in the GUI, that calls a simple "Scanreg/Backup" or "System Restore Point" (if desired) just before Ace Registry tool runs..
Does'nt sound immpossible...

Hey jazzbodepew,
There is a 'System Restore' option present in the current version of Registry TuneUp , though it is not clubbed with the scanning process. As you might have noticed, it can only be accessed through the 'Configuration Wizard' option. Also, there is 'Backup whole Registry' option present too. Again, the program does not explicitly ask to perform a backup before each scanning/deletion.
As you mentioned, yes, its a good suggestion. Thankyou

Is this a safety issue
So maybe having the sys restore/scanreg backup, precurse the reg tool, might be helpfull..I seldomly use those features in ACE because I work with the registry all the time and have it backed up..For a more casual user ;I think the registry can be a frightening concept..Well it is to me also yet this easier access to the backup switches could be very helpfull,in this matter..
It will be interesting to see how you guys(developers) weigh the positive vs. negative on this issue..
