Question concerning floppy drive and registry clean up

While the new 2.2 version of Ace Utilities is terrific, like its predecessor, the floppy drive on my computer is being activated several times during registry clean up. While this is more of a slight irritation than a real problem, do you have any suggestions how to stop this from happening?

P.S. My suspicions are with Symantec's "Norton Rescue" feature where back-ups are done to floppy disks. Could this operation be creating needless references in the registry to the floppy drive?

Hi Grant

Open Ace Utilities and click on the registry cleaner>options> look at the last three options on the right (Check boxes) and uncheck the first two which says, "Include all references to removeable media e.g. foppy diskette" and the check box below it. See if that helps and if not it may be something that Hari (Author) will have to look into.

Thanks so much, Cal, for your prompt response. Unfortunately, even after un-ticking the references to the floppy and CD drives under the registry cleaner options, the situation remains unchanged. But, as indicated in my original message, several seconds of floppy drive whirring during registry clean up is a tiny nuisance in comparison with the overall excellence of the AU program. Simply put, it's a terrific product.

My thanks again for the suggestion, and with best regards,

Grant

Thanks ever so much, Hari. The Ace program just gets better and better with each update, and those who don't have it, simply don't know what they're missing out on.
