* Close all browser windows before attempting to clear the search history.
* For Internet Explorer, go to the 'Plugins' sub-section inside the 'Erase History' tool and check-mark 'Google Toolbar' plugin entry.

There is no plugins selection under erase history. I have cookie manager, address bar editor, and IE users. That is it.

It's just above the section named 'Internet Explorer/MSN'.

You are looking at the 'Options' page. Please go to the 'Erase History' tool first. That is where the sub-section that I have mentioned earlier resides.
