Hello...
I'm a registered Ace Utilities user and I'm trying to run Ace Utilities 3.2.0 under MS Vista 32bit. It installs ok, but when I launch any of the programs or the main program, it gives me the error message: "Acelogix Software's Ace Utilities For System Maintenance has stopped working... A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available."
...any ideas?
Ace Utilities 3.2.0 under VISTA
Hmm... I haven't had a problem with Ace Utilities 3.2 on my Vista system. What is your system specs?? I'm running Ace on a Toshiba Satellite Notebook, Vista Home Premium, without any problems; except the fact that I cannot schedule it to automatically run during system start-up. I think there is a compatability error with the program, it specifically indicates it will run on server 2003, windows xp and I think one other OS. did you try un-installing and re-installing?
Hari from AceLogix figured it out. For the record, here's what fixed it (copied from Hari's email):
Go to Control Panel->System and Maintenance->System.
Select "Advanced system settings" (User Account Control may kick in and ask
for permission to continue)
On the "Advanced" tab under Performance, Click Settings.
Then select the "Data Execution Prevention" tab.
Select the top radio button "Turn on DEP for essential Windows programs and
services only".
(You can also just add the application to the list box below the second
(default) radio button)
Click Apply and OK's to back out, then restart Vista.
