Did you try emptying your IE browser's cache? If not, delete it and see if that helps.

I haven't experience one today but it says the IE browser has performed an illegal action and will be closed.

hi,

Instead of trying to fix IE errors, please reinstall it. Even repairing IE might not work.

You can download IE from the url http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/dow ... fault.mspx

One of these might also work.

Go to Start > Run , type sfc (for System File Checker) and then follow the
instructions to import your new dll file to the correct location

Go to Control Panel, Internet options. Next, go to Advance Tab.
Uncheck "Enable third party browser extension"
Click OK

IE Setup

Post by jazzbodepew » Tue Aug 17, 2004 4:31 pm

Like Hari says a full re-install is a good place to start..
First Defragment and run Scandisk....

You can look in the folder of IE to find the "Setup.exe"(icon)..

By connecting to the Internet and running IE "Setup.exe"...

You do about the same as clicking on the link Hari gives...

The Setup will see what IE files you have and it will retrieve the missing ones from the download site...
A "Typical Install" is probably the way to go..

:?: Hey Hari :"If they don't have Admin Privelage and put ACe in "Expert" mode ;Could this cause an "Illegal Op"?

Or something like that?

HI Jazz,

The illegal op here is not because of AU, it was there even before installing AU. TO answer your question, No, if the user does not have admin privileges, AU gives a warning. It works alright but AU (or any such software) won't be able to find all the errors.
