A malicious program can 'disguise' itself and use the name of a commonly used legitimate program and set itself to be run at startup. When you select an entry, the 'auto-start manager' checks it against the 'database' and provides information regarding possible malicious usages, if any has been reported. Go through some entries under 'Current User Run' or 'Local Machine Run' and read the associated text shown in the 'Info' pane. The list is a third-party compilation. Not every entry has details in the 'start-up' list.
