For the Clean System Registry, there are two scanning options: standard and thorough. I uderstand the difference, but my question is, does using the thorough option increase or create any risks?

Theoretically, 'thorough/deep scan' option finds more entries. More entries to delete = more problems can occur. :-\

Ace Utilities and System TuneUp use built-in ignore lists to skip entries whose removal could cause problems. From what we've seen so far, you do not need to worry. You can restore the deleted entries to fix a problem almost always.
