I recently ran AceUtilities and Registry Compactor.

Now, my screen saver will not kick in.

Any connection or any ideas how to re-enable the screen saver?

Thanks.

It's highly unlikely that AU will cause such a trouble. So far we have not heard any such thing.

Please go to 'Display' control panel applet -> Screensaver tab. Check if screensaver is enabled. ( Or, right click on desktop-> select properties -> screensaver)

Well, for one thing the Acelogix "Registry Compactor" should not be run while any app/function will write to the Windows registry. So it wouldn't be a good idea to run the "Registry Compactor" with your screen-saver enabled.

Are you talkin about a custom screensaver ,which you have downloaded,or the Standard Windows screensavers?

A custom screensaver may be installed in a Temp folder and get cleaned by ACE Utilities..
Most Windows screensavers have the extension(.scr) and are in the Windows or System folder(s)...

If it's a custom screensaver put it in one of those folders(recommended) or if it has a different extension add the extension to the ignore list..

Although if it is a different extension and you ignore it while cleaning it could be a security risk..This by allowing any file with this extension to operate on your machine...Not necessarily a bad thing but could be....

Somethin like that..
