Ace Utilities Problem

Hi. I was just wondering why Ace Utilities (latest version) won't start up immediately upon clicking on the program icon. My computer specs are pretty high so I doubt it is a problem on the user end.
Is Ace Utilities tested or been optimized for Windows XP Service Pack 3? Is that why there is a lag upon clicking the program icon and the actual opening of the program? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Please let me know the approx starting time in seconds.
Antivirus tools can scan a program before it is started.

Hi. The usual time in seconds for ace utilities to open on my computer is approx. 1 1/2 seconds. However, after installing Service Pack 3, my computer will open ace utilities in approx. 7-8 seconds. I do have antivirus software (CA Antivirus 2007), but before I installed service pack 3, the program opened just fine. I'm guessing the problem occurs with the introduction of Windows XP SP3.

Well, first off you can try 2 things: disable antivirus and try to start AU, or re-install AU again and see if that helps:)
Let us know how that work.

Ok, I tried disabling antivirus and the same thing happens...there is noticeable lag. I re-installed AU again after uninstalling and I get the same result. Under XP SP2, the problem seems to be solved after trying it on a friend's computer. However, my computer is XP SP3 and right after the installation of it, Ace Utilities brings noticeable lag when first starting the program. Any other tips?

We do have XP sp3 installed on our dev machines ; there is no lag.
Do you have any tools like WinIce, WinDbg, etc installed ?
