I ran Ace Utilites on my husband's Asus netbook last night. It was doing fine until he restarted it today.
Now:
-keyboard doesn't work
-some audio components don't work and we get Asus ACPI error messages
-touchpad doesn't work
-can't connect to the internet
Under Device Manager, a bunch of things have the ! beside different things and when I look into them, it says that they are disabled (and I can't seem to manually enable them) and reference an error Code 32.
I tried to uninstall the keyboard, like the troubleshooting recommends, but it didn't uninstall and still does not work.
I tried to Restore within Ace Utilities and said it restored, but problems still exist.
I tried to restore through System Tools, and the computer won't do it.
HHHHHHHHHEEEEEEEEEEEEEELLLLLLLLLLLPPPPPPPPPPPP!
Big problems...
Re: Big problems...
This is the first time I'm hearing any such drastic thing happening. Is it related to Ace Utilities? Which version did you use? Please make sure that you're running the version that's recommended for the Windows operating system that you're using. Try restoring the backup files created by Ace Utilities and restart Windows. If nothing works, you need to put the recovery disc that came with the netbook and proceed as instructed. :-\
