I know that the drives to be scanned can be chosen in "options". I always use "all drives",but I am just wondering WHY the "A" drive (FLOPPY) is scanned for SHORTCUTS as well. Previous versions did NOT do this and the ONLY reason I mention it is that I hear the floppy drive activated during the scan. This only happens,of course, when "ALL DRIVES" is selected. Any comments would be greatly appreciated. I might ad that,in my opinion, ACE has got to be the finest clean up program of it's type.

Looking for shortcuts in the "A" drive..........FL
hi radioguy,
AU is not scanning the floppy drive. Sometimes a shortcut on a hard disk drive (say d:) may point to a file on floppy. So when trying to check if the target is valid, Au might access the floppy drive.
Anyway, thanks for the info, I will add an option either not to scan shortcuts targetting floppy or to list them all as invalid.

Shortcuts to Floppy
Thanks for the fast reply Hari! Having the choice of not scanning for those shortcuts will certainly take care of it!
Thanks again, Radioguy
