Junk File remover--can you exclude certain type of files?

Post by Corey » Wed Sep 07, 2005 7:20 pm

HI.

I use Genie Backup Manager and some of the files are stored in the Temp directory. If I delete the files with Junk File Remover, jobs on the Genie Backup Manager do not work anymore since the temp files have been removed. I want to clean up my Temp file, but I don't want to delete the Genie Backup Manager files.

Is there anyway to exclude a certain type of file from being removed with the Junk File Remover? I see that I can exclude folders but since it is in the Temp folder that doesn't help much. An example of a file would be GBM??.xml

Does anyone else use Genie Backup Manager and have the same problem?

Thanks.

Why don't you just put those files in another folder, say "jmarbleaz Genie."

What Cal asked. Is it possible to store these files in another folder ? There should be a setting somewhere to change its location.

There is a way to exclude, but first lets try the above method.

J*******z
An example of a file would be GBM??.xml
I see Genie backup mgr is in Aces' ignore list...

Of course the best thing is to tell the Genie interface to store these files elsewhere...As per Hari and Cals' advice..

If all the Genie files in the temp folder are "XML" extensions you can(maybe) Add XML extension to the junk file list then uncheck the box.. never tried this but I will now...

Naturally that would leave all other xmls in the temp folder too...
