I am enjoying the trial version of Ace Utilities and have been trying to stop the Microsoft Messenger program from starting up and being placed in the system tray when I start my computer.
I used the function in Ace Utilities to "uncheck" it from the startup group.
On the next boot it does not show up in the system tray but on the next bootup after that, it does. Back in Ace Utilities, there is a duplicate entry for the Messenger program (enabled) with a pop up info window from Ace noting that a previously disabled program has enabled itself.
What am I missing?
Thanks in advance.

Many thanks--the Messenger Options "fix" worked perfectly.
More importantly, your quick and accurate reply has confirmed my decision to purchase Ace Utilities. It is rare these days to have prompt, friendly, and accurate support. This combined with a high quality, yet simple and powerful program makes Ace Utilities a winner.
Again, Thanks.
