Hi, I have a register copy of Ace utilities software 4.0. Is it a great software but limited automate schedule option. Is there any way to automate schedule Internet Explorer History cleanup when the last Internet explorer window is closed or window shutdown instead of only automate cleanup when Window start? I have try a free software IE Privacy Keeper and there is a option to do that. It seem that Ace Utilities do not have the option to perform that. Is there any way to implement it for the next release of Ace Utilities version? :?:

Cleaning the browser history during Windows shutdown has the same effect as that of cleaning during Windows startup.

But more importantly, is there any way to automate schedule Internet Explorer History cleanup when the last Internet explorer window is closed. So that whenever I close the last internet explorer window, everything like the internet history, cookies and cache will be cleared. I do not need to wait till I shut down the window.

A reboot is required to ensure full erasure of IE history because a few entries/files will be kept 'locked' by Windows and cannot be removed while Windows is running.

At present, there is no option to clear the IE history as soon as you close the last open IE window. Instead, you can create a shortcut on your desktop with the following command

"C:\Program Files\Ace Utilities\au.exe" /tasks:h

assuming that 'C:\Program Files\Ace Utilities' is the folder where Ace Utilities is installed. After closing the IE windows, you only need to double-click this shortcut to delete the history. Mind you that this will not only clear the IE history, but also other options you have set under 'Erase History' tool. If you need to delete only IE history, go to 'Erase History' tool and select only 'Run the marked options in Internet Explorer page'.

Please note that you MAY have to restart your Windows to complete the erasing process.

I guess I have to continue using IE Privacy Keeper as it did not require reboot or manually create a shortcut to do that. What I need is just to have it automate to clean IE history and cookie when the last internet explorer window close. Those that need to reboot in order to clean is fine for me.

Also note, that checking if the last IE window is being closed means we have to run constantly in the background which consumes system resources.

To run an exe in the background just for this purpose seems overkill
