why is it that i cannt remove the non-microsoft services with the startup manager? obviously if this is possible to do that would be a great added feature but incase theres a reason why its not i was just wondering.

We thought of adding it, but decided it was better to leave that option disabled.

Users might accidentally delete a service that is useful, and won't remember what was deleted.

If you delete a startup entry, it is not a bad thing. If something goes wrong, you can always reinstall the associated program .

But services are more important entries that needs careful examination before deleting.

Anyway, we might add this feature in the next update, it is too late to add it in this update.

On a different note, I would like to say that instead of worrying about the non-MS services, which are only a handful, concentrate on the obscenely large number of MS services, many of which doesn't serve much purpose for many users other than consuming precious memory space and CPU cycles.

Aneesh, I agree with you 100%! There are quite a few MS services that can be disabled and will free memory and resources! The only difference being that in order to recover resources a user has to restart Windows.
