Hi, I have just joined up on these forums, I have first used ace utilities in 2002 and the product has really matured since then. I think that its a great effort by you hari. I have a couple of recommendations for you though. I feel that you should not use inno setup for your installer. Rather, you are better off using NSIS as inno can be decompile upto some extent. I know that this isn't really a problem as the keychek is in the exe itself, but it shows professionalism when people don't leave loose ends. The GIU from 1.0 to 2.0 has dramatically changed, and I really liked it at that time, but I think that its time that you change your GUI, after all it's a brand version isn't it. I see a few problems with your current GUI. One thing that really bothers me (call me anal retentive 
) is that the Ace Optimizer Utilities is Stretched Vertically. In all, I think that it's high time that you get a GUI change.

In all, I think that it's high time that you get a GUI change.Thanks for your post ipab, your ideas are quite interesting indeed, and I agree that Ace Utilities needs a revamp, if you're currently using the Beta of Ace Utilities 3.0.0 then you might notice the not-so-dramatic change. This will probably be all that we're going to change and/or design in this version, but I do agree that being version 3 it would be nice having a completely different layout. I'll speak with Hari about it and see what his views are.

Hari, I think that IF you really want to switch installer, you should consider MSI instead both INNO and NSIS.
I admit that I do prefer a script based engine, but MSI is "the standard" at least to get the "designed for Windows logo" or simply being accepted by corporations.
According to this, future MSI v4.0 will be the "de facto" application install technology on Vista and it will be used for both user applications and system patches.

to inray: well good point about MSI, but MSI installers are very big, and they take forever to load up, the point is you are trading off a huge installer for a certification. The software you are selling is something that reduces clutter on ones computer. Having a huge installer sends the wrong message, not to mention kill motivation to download the program itself. I simply suggested NSIS since its very nice and scriptable (very much expandable), cannot be decompiled and has a much smaller header size than INNO.
to hari: installer is nice, mite i suggest 2 options for it:
1. The installer banner and icon etc should be changed to match that of ace utilities.
2.perhaps add an option to enter a key into the installer itself, so that registered users who are downloading it don't have to use the nag option in ace utilities to enter their key. They can just open it up nicely, without a nag.
