I tried that already, but to no avail. Must be something else.
Thanks anyway.

i think it was related to a file that Adobe Reader put in 'Temp' folder. i deleted it and the problem seems to have disappeared. i will continue to watch it for awhile.

junk files
i understand what you are saying, but the no. of files was about 141, and i don't think all of those would be created by Windows, etc. while running the scan. maybe something in the include file is missing or etc. i will watch for awhile and see what develops.
thanks for info

CAL OR HARI.....
I recently installed "Nero CD/DVD" software pkg. and noticed that all my files with extension of .DAT had been changed to being read by "Nero" instead of their previous Wordpad or whatever it was. (I went to Control Panel, Folder Options, File Types, to verify this). The icon was also changed in the...

HEY CAL.... NEED SOME HELP
Is there any way you can send me all of the *.INI and *.DAT files that belong in the "IGNORE_REG" file in the "Ace Utilities\Data\Ignore_Reg" folder? Also the "STARTUP.DAT" file in the "Ace Utilities\Data" folder? Somehow these got hosed up. Or would it be easier to un-install and re-install Ace, bu...

JUNK FILE SCAN ON NEW HARD DRIVE
I just installed a new external hard drive (E:\) and noticed when doing scans for Junk Files the following: when the scan screen appears, both drives show as being selectable, but when I de-select C: and only want to scan E:, both drives are scanned anyway. Shouldn't I be able to scan each drive ind...
