Hi, recently upgraded my Adobe Acrobat from 7.08. to Version 8. now on scanning the reg Ace Utils lists this under invalid BHO. Uninstalled runtimes, installed updated Ace Utilities, not a single error to report. Sidebyside errors all gone.

Col, the latest version does not need the runtime dlls, so go ahead and install it without the runtime. Jazz, nice to hear from you, it's been a while :) i tried 3.1 .4039 last week without the runtimes and as soon as i ran ace utils, it gave sidebyside errors, has it been updated again ?? thanks, ...

Please reinstall from http://www.acelogix.com/downloads/au.exe . Uninstall vc_redist, and check if this works. The runtime DLLs should not be uninstalled. It is used by many other programs as well. Please let me know if there is any reason for uninstalling it. no other program requires it on my sys, i only installed it because it was posted here for version 3 to stop the sidebyside errors. Still got sidebyside errors in 3.1

Hi,
uninstalled the Runtimes dlls, installed 3.1 and low and behold the sidebyside errors are back :cry: i was led to believe this was now fixed, but seems the runtimes are still needed. :wink:

This now seems to conflict with the latest Quicktime 7.13. Its Apple Software Update causes sidebyside errors Event ID 58 and 59 and 61. On closer inspection it appears its caused by the installation of vcredist_x86.exe . Any help to resolve this would be great. Thanks. By the way this is what i fo...

In future to see what info your backups contain, try this trick.
right click your selected regfile and choose open with, then choose notepad. Now you can run through what each backup contains before you restore it or delete it. :wink:
