IMHO, the current group of components within AU is just right. It has all of the things I want to clean up the computer (registry and temp files). I generally stay away from packages that throw in superfluous utilities that are either meaningless or duplicates what Windows already provides. (I like ...

Listen to this. I have been using AU for about an hour, cleaning up StartupMgr items and doing repeated reboots to test such disabled items. Without explaination, "Secure Erase" appeared on the context menu. Although this came about, I had not done any modifications to AU, such as Option settings or...

My other problems remain unresolved: 1) Multiple passes required on Junk file removing. If some file is locked by another running program, Ace will not be able to complete the delete operation. This is because Ace uses the Windows' function to delete all the files in one batch, and windows will abo...

- Exclude files (this is new) .. - Include files (this already exists in Junk File Remover table) .. - Removal - Registry Cleaner - etc Here is my case. I have a data file in the folder, C:\Doc&Set\User\Local Settings\Temp\MSVDM-Desktop0.bmp You seem to have missed the right click context menu's 'I...

Cal, The exclude problem seems to be resolved for me. I am able to list the file in the IgnoreListEditor, tehn uncheck the "[_] Do not use the ignore list while scanning the temp folder". My other problems remain unresolved: 1) Multiple passes required on Junk file removing. 2) Preferences do not ex...

Maybe another bug: When I first ran the Junk File Remover module on my C: drive, it properly found about 120 candidate files. Good; let's delete all of them. After clicking, "Delete", they supposedly were all delete. Then I ran the scan again, and it found the last 80 files. It seems that only the f...

Edited:

In windows FileExplorer, the context menu shows many items but not your "Secure Erase".

I have searched for "Secure Erase" in REGEDIT.EXE but no key appeared.

If it is otherwise existing in REGEDIT, where should I check?

Hi Cal:

I am looking in AU > Options > Erase window

There is no entry called "Secure Erase".
There is some others, of which I thought the two relevant ones are:
[x] Enable explorer context menu
[x] Enable recycle bin context menu

The about screen reads, "3.0.0.4037"
Am I looking in the right place?

Will check the 'export' bug. It's too late to check the 'MAIN MODULE' issue. Will fix it in the next minor update. When do you expect this to occur? . . WIPE SHELL EXTENSION - Explain? Right click on any file on Explorer, and you will see a 'Secure Delete' item in the menu. If I am doing this right...

Cal:

No it wouldn't. My file is older than a week, and its age remains static. Further, this \temp\ file is mostly populated by very recent-aged files.

My expectation is this feature could "easily" be implemented. And it would be very very useful to me. (Please.)

Thanks.

I did a quick read. Seems I must be in agreement - I use most of the #1 picks.

One more suggestion: In the "Remove Junk Files" module, the Options setting allows for Exclusion and Inclusion of folders. However it does not allow exclusion of individual files or file types. I would like to see in Options | Junk Remover a submenu of tables that reads: - Junk File Remover .. - Exc...
