Re: Ace Utilities v5.1 Beta
Understood Aneesh. Thanks for finding the actual issue. Unfortunately, my Vista laptop crashed yesterday, so I have no way of validating the workaround posted on the M$ website anytime soon (mainboard issue). Maybe someone else could duplicate the problem and see if the 'fix' works for them? I could...

Re: Ace Utilities v5.1 Beta
I am trying to find duplicate files on a mapped drive (Z:), but it is not being presented as an option. Do I need to turn this on somewhere? I tried to include 'removable' drives under the misc setup section, but this did not make a difference. Running Vista. I have the 5.1.0/32 beta version.

Clear search in duplicate file finder
I recently did a search for duplicate files on an external drive (E). The drive is no longer attached to my computer, but when I open the search, the E drive is selected by default in the search list (as it was my last search), even though it is no longer a valid drive on my system. I did not procee...

Missing drive/folder list in Find Duplicate
Running AU 3.3.1 on XP MCE. When I launch Find Duplicate Files, I no longer see the folder list on the left side of the screen. Have been AU user for years. I originally had the issue with 3.3.0, but dont remember if I used the duplicate file feature before, as I dont remember ever seeing the new op...

Re: [Ace Utilities 3.0] Wipe Free Space Problem
Thank you for your reporting of this error, it seems that our latest version of Ace Utilities 3.0.0 has quite a few bugs needing to be fixed that we never saw during the process of it. We will look into it as soon as possible.

History Cleaner Lag
Has everyone found this or is it only I that am experiencing this.. Since the previous release of Ace Utilities 3.0.0 I've found that History Cleaner takes almost triple the time in which it used to take. I'm not sure as I've said if anyone else finds this, but just thought I'd mention it just encas...

Chat Log deletion
I was thinking of adding another option into the 'History Cleaner Tool' for the benefit of Aim Users, for example, for MSN Messenger, a particular user could configure ace utilities to delete 'Conversation Log Files' after a certain period of time, or to delete Log Files belonging to certain contact...

Re: Good Idea "H"
jazzbodepew, sorry mate, but I've had to remove your link as the site contains spyware and a few enforcements (continuous attempts to get you to install something, though your original answer was clearly stated "No") I apologise for the inconvenience this might course.

RegSeeker allows items in the "Startup" section to be disabled. This is like a delete for the faint-of-heart. It moves the reg key to a subordinate "disable" sub-key. As such, the key remains in the registry file, but it becomes inactive (does not run). This allows temporary disabiling of the key f...

Re: Free Ram Optimizer
Note: WinXP has a very state-of-the-art memory management, and you won't notice any performance improvement when using memory optimizers. All such optimizers/boosters available on the market - both freeware and trialware - are useless for XP and others to follow. Such programs are recommended for 9...

Hi Skeleton, Thanks for your taking the time to write this review, its comforting knowing that ace utilities is your number one choice amongst our competitors. You needn't worry to much about antivirus software being built into our program as we don't want Ace Utilities to become a Feature Creep app...
